Trey Doty

Senior Consultant

Trey Doty is an experienced nonprofit professional whose entrepreneurial approach has emerged from his leadership in grantmaking, higher education, church planting, and community service organizations. He is frequently sought out to inspire organizations and individuals to creatively engage donors, board members, executives, and volunteers in achieving their mission.

As the founder of two church plants and a grantmaking foundation, he understands the challenges that organizations face during critical transition periods. He provides the fund development and strategic leadership perspective that assist not-for-profit executives and boards as they navigate a changing reality. Whether it is establishing a fund development program in a longstanding organization (George Fox Evangelical Seminary) or scaling a not-for-profit from local to national influence (Responder Life) he looks forward to the moments he is able to catalyze health and sustainability in the life of an organization.

Trey received a B.S. in Sociology/Social Work from George Fox University and his Master of Divinity from George Evangelical Seminary. His post-graduate studies include a Certificate of Nonprofit Development from Portland State University and the completion of a twelve-month Residency in Clinical Pastoral Education from Legacy Emanuel Hospital and Health Center, a level-one trauma center in Portland, OR. He is a recorded (ordained) Friends pastor in the Northwest Yearly Meeting of Friends Churches.

He currently serves as Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer for Responder Life, an adjunct faculty member and ministry leadership coach for George Fox Evangelical Seminary, a member of the Pastoral Care and Consultation Committee for Emanuel Hospital and Health Center, and Chair for the Board of Leadership Development for the sixty-seven Friends (Quaker) churches in the Pacific Northwest.

Trey and his wife, Stephanie reside in Portland, OR with their two children and enjoy exploring new restaurants, browsing Powell's Bookstore, and spending most of their time on the sideline of a soccer match.
